AK Interactive AK11895 IJN Q1 ANTI-GLARE BLUE-BLACK – AIR 17ml

AK Interactive AK11895 IJN Q1 ANTI-GLARE BLUE-BLACK – AIR 17ml is a professional 3rd generation acrylic paint, specially designed for scale modeling of aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). The presented shade – Anti-Glare Blue-Black Q1 – is a historically accurate color used on anti-glare elements of Japanese aircraft, tactical planes, and naval bombers during World War II. The formula of this paint has been specifically developed to reflect the unique, deep blue-black tone used from 1937 to 1945.

The Q1 ANTI-GLARE BLUE-BLACK color was widely applied on upper surfaces and cockpit covers of aircraft such as the Mitsubishi Zero (A6M), Nakajima B5N Kate, or Aichi D3A Val. Its purpose was to minimize pilot glare from sunlight reflected off the painted surfaces of machines during battles in the Pacific – including engagements such as the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Battle of Midway, and the campaign in the Philippines.
