Historical Information and Color Application

The shade RLM 66 (RAL Schwarzgrau 66) was officially introduced by the German Ministry of Aviation (Reichsluftfahrtministerium) in 1938, becoming the standard color for interior cabin elements, instrument panels, and cockpit panels in German Luftwaffe aircraft from the late 1930s, particularly during WWII. It was used, among others, in the legendary Messerschmitt Bf 109, Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters, and Heinkel He 111 bombers. Precise reproduction of this color is essential for dioramas and models reflecting authentic constructions from 1938–1945.
