A monograph on the history of the creation and development of the Ki-84 Hayate aircraft, as well as its further variants (Ki-106, Ki-113, Ki-116, Ki-84R, Ki-84P and Ki-84N). All variants and sub-variants of the aircraft are discussed, describing the changes carried out in them. The combat use of the Ki-84 aircraft from its debut in China in the summer of 1944 to the end of the Pacific War is presented. The paintings and markings of the Ki-84 aircraft are presented, the fate of the examples captured by the Americans and an attempt is made to evaluate the aircraft. The whole is complemented by a detailed technical description of the design and numerous appendices, including a glossary of Japanese names and terms, lists of IJAAF military ranks and units using Ki-84 aircraft, and technical data on several versions of the aircraft, engines and armament.
