Dragon 6573 Sherman III DV, Early Production (1/35)

The Dragon 6573 Sherman III DV, Early Production in 1/35 scale is an excellent plastic model kit, precisely recreated based on archival documentation and original vehicles. The Sherman III DV, also known as the M4A2 Direct Vision, is a British version of the popular American M4 Sherman tank—one of the most recognizable and significant armored vehicles of the 20th century.

The Sherman III DV was mainly used by the British Army and their allies during World War II, between 1942 and 1945. The tank participated in numerous operations, including the African campaign, the Italian campaign, and the Normandy invasion. The "Direct Vision" model was distinguished by its specific, simple vision ports for the driver and gunner, instead of the more complex periscopes, which gives this reproduced version a significant historical value.

  • Model scale: 1/35
  • Country of use: United Kingdom, United States (basic version)
  • Usage period: World War II (1942-1945)
  • Material: high quality polystyrene plastic
  • Equipment: clear plastic details (optical elements), segmented tracks, and new sprues dedicated to the Early Production DV version
  • Category: plastic model kit
  • Kit contents: sprues with parts, decals with Allied markings, assembly instructions

We recommend this model to both experienced modelers and those with intermediate skills who want to further develop their abilities in the construction of World War II armored vehicles. The detailed features, historical accuracy, and solid build quality make this set an excellent base for dioramas or as a standalone piece in a historical collection. Of special note is the exceptionally realistic reproduction of armor textures and surfaces, as well as numerous details such as handles, hatches, and optical elements, which faithfully capture the appearance of the real Sherman III DV.

The assembly difficulty level is rated at 3/5—the model requires precision and patience, especially when assembling small parts and the segmented tracks, but should not pose major problems for those with intermediate modeling experience.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
