The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23B/BN aircraft was a development of the classic MiG-23 fighter, produced in the USSR and extensively used by the air forces of many Warsaw Pact countries, as well as states in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The B and BN versions (respectively Soviet and export) served mainly as ground-attack/fighter-bomber aircraft and were widely used from the mid-1970s during the Cold War era.
