Mitsubishi J4M Senden with Sakae Thermojet Engine is a unique model proposition for fans of experimental aviation from the World War II era. Presented by MikroMir, this model depicts a concept interceptor developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries specifically for the Imperial Japanese Navy. The J4M Senden aircraft, also known to the Allies as "Luke", was created in response to the need for a modern interceptor capable of engaging heavily armed American bombers in the Pacific.

This 1/72 scale model is a faithful recreation of a design that never entered mass production—the J4M remained in the design phase and did not see combat. With this kit, you have a unique opportunity to recreate a rare, almost mythical fighter from the final stage of the war (period: World War II, around 1944-1945). The model clearly showcases the characteristic layout of the Sakae Thermojet engine, representing an advanced attempt by Japanese engineers to implement jet propulsion.

  • Realistically replicated fuselage and propulsion system geometry
  • Precisely shaped wing and tail elements
  • Detailed cockpit and observation station
  • Crisp panel lines and well-defined surface panels
  • The model is designed for painting and finishing as you wish
  • No glue or paints included in the kit (available in our store)

We recommend this model to enthusiasts of experimental aviation and collectors of unusual designs. This project is ideal for intermediate and advanced modelers—difficulty level 3/5—due to the presence of components requiring precise fitting and painting, as well as the uniqueness of the subject, which encourages your own interpretation of colors and markings.
Mikromir 72-024 Mitsubishi J4M Senden is a rarity on the model market in this scale and an attractive choice for any modelers’ portfolio dedicated to Japanese fighters.

1/72

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
