Historical description – battleship Tirpitz

The battleship Tirpitz was one of the most famous German warships of World War II. Launched in 1939 as the sister ship to the legendary Bismarck, throughout the war it served as a “fleet in being”, forcing the Allies to maintain strong naval forces in the Arctic. Tirpitz’s combat activities mainly focused on the waters of Norway, where it posed both a real and potential threat to Arctic convoys bound for the USSR. It was sunk by RAF bombers in November 1944.

What does the Eduard 53279 set contain?

  • Highly precise photo-etched components that replace or enhance key details of the model: railings, ladders, metal details for masts and anchoring systems, weaponry and platform elements.
  • Step-by-step assembly instructions to facilitate correct integration of the photo-etched parts with the model.

Why choose Eduard 53279?

This set is recommended by modelers worldwide for its top-notch manufacturing quality and excellent fit for the Trumpeter model. Photo-etched parts allow for a degree of detail impossible to achieve with plastic components, making the model stand out even at exhibitions. Especially recommended for advanced ship modelers seeking a historically accurate replica. We rate the assembly difficulty at 4/5.

Eduard 53279 Tirpitz part 1 TRUMPETER 1/350 is a professional choice for every ship modeling enthusiast who values the highest quality and perfect realism.

Scale
1/350

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
