The Challenger 1 is a British main battle tank introduced into service in the 1980s and used by the British Army during the Cold War and in the armed conflicts of the 1990s. One of the most famous operational episodes involving this vehicle was its participation in Operation Granby, which was the British contribution to the Gulf War (1991). The book contains unique photographs from the vehicle’s trials, service in the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR), missions in the Balkans (Bosnia), as well as numerous CRARRV modernizations.
The publication offers extensive photographic documentation, including so-called "walk around" – detail shots essential for building realistic plastic or resin models in the most popular scales such as 1/35 or 1/72. In addition to archival photos, the book also presents modern shots of CRARRVs from recent years of service.
Kagero 0011 Challenger 1 Main Battle Tank. Vol. II EN is especially recommended for modelers planning to build miniatures of British tanks from the Cold War era and beyond. This volume will also be appreciated by demanding modelers and collectors who are looking for authentic sources for replicating painting details or markings. The difficulty level of using this publication as a reference is rated at 1/5 – it is accessible for both beginners and advanced modelers.
It is an invaluable source of knowledge for anyone passionate about modern armored vehicles, the history of the British Army, and realistic military vehicle modeling.
