The T-60 was a lightly armored Soviet reconnaissance tank produced between 1941–1942 by the USSR. It was created as a successor to the outdated T-38 and was originally equipped with a 12.7 mm DShK machine gun. In the production version, however, it was fitted with a 20 mm TNSh cannon, which was a tank modification of the ShVAK gun. It proved its effectiveness on the Eastern Front during defensive battles near Moscow and in Red Army offensives, including the Battle of Stalingrad. By November 1942, over 6,292 units of this vehicle had been produced.
