The aircraft carrier Kaga was originally designed as a battleship for the Imperial Japanese Navy, but – in accordance with the terms of the Washington Naval Treaty – was rebuilt as one of the first large aircraft carriers. She served during the 1920s and throughout World War II. Her most significant role was in the attack on Pearl Harbor (1941), where as part of the Kidō Butai grouping, she played a key role in the surprise assault on the American fleet. Destroyed during the Battle of Midway (1942), Kaga became a symbol of the turning point in the war in the Pacific.
This brochure is intended for all ship modelers, naval history enthusiasts, and collectors of themed studies. Thanks to realistic 3D renders and technical drawings, the publication is an invaluable source of detailed information and inspiration for building ship models in 1/350, 1/700, and other scales. You can use it while working on both plastic and resin models – regardless of your level of advancement.
We rate the model building difficulty level based on this monograph at level 2/5 – the publication is accessible, and the high quality of the illustrations will satisfy both beginners and experienced modelers.
We recommend Kagero 16031 The Japanese Aircraft Carrier Kaga EN to everyone who wants to enhance the realism of their models and expand their knowledge about the history of one of World War II’s most important vessels.
