A brief history of the Flakpanzer Ostwind vehicle

The Flakpanzer Ostwind is a German self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle based on the chassis of the famous Panzer IV tank. It was introduced into service in the second half of World War II, mainly in the years 1944-1945. A distinctive feature of the Ostwind was its open, hexagonal turret armed with the effective 37 mm Flak 43 automatic cannon. This vehicle served in front-line Waffen-SS and Wehrmacht divisions, providing protection against Allied air attacks as well as fire support for armored units. It was most often used on the Western Front, especially during fighting in France and Germany.

Why choose the Eduard 35472 set?

  • High level of detail – new photo-etched parts allow you to replicate even the smallest vehicle details (locks, hinges, protective meshes, tool and accessory details).
  • Easy integration – components are precisely matched to the Italeri 1/35 model.
  • Enhances the display value of any competition or collector model.
  • Complete assembly instructions, clear even for intermediate modelers.

Who is it for?

The Eduard 35472 set is recommended for all modelers wanting to achieve the highest level of realism in their Ostwind model. Ideal for intermediate and advanced modelers. Difficulty level: 4/5 (precise fitting and gluing of small photo-etched parts required).

If you care about historically accurate representation of the German Flakpanzer Ostwind and want to make your diorama or model stand out at an exhibition – this set is an excellent choice!

Scale
1/35

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
