Historical Information – MiG-17

The MiG-17 (Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17, Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-17) is a Soviet jet fighter, developed from the successful MiG-15. It entered service with the USSR between 1952 and 1970 and was widely used in Eastern Bloc countries, as well as in Asia and Africa. The aircraft became particularly famous during the Vietnam War, where North Vietnamese pilots effectively challenged American aircraft. Service period: Cold War.

Product Advantages and Recommendations

Eduard CX557 masks ensure excellent precision when painting the windows and other transparent parts of the MiG-17 model. This product is dedicated to both beginner and advanced modelers who value high quality and fast, clean detailing on plastic models. By using this mask, you’ll not only save time but also achieve the effect of a professionally finished, sharply defined canopy frame and precisely painted clear parts.

We recommend Eduard CX557 MiG-17 1/72 AIRFIX to every modeler who expects top-quality results and wants to avoid the problems associated with manually masking small components. The product is simple to use, and the final effect significantly enhances the realism of the model.

Scale
1/72

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
