M3 Lee is an American medium tank, produced in 1941–1942, and used extensively both by the US Army and its allies, especially during the North African campaigns. The name ‘Lee’ comes from Confederate General Robert E. Lee. This tank is known for its unusual armament layout – it was fitted with a 75 mm hull-mounted gun as well as a turret housing a 37 mm cannon. The Late Production variant already included numerous improvements over earlier versions, such as modifications to the turret, improved ventilation, enhanced armor, and modern T41 track links, all of which are included in the MiniArt set.

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
