Dragon 6947 Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E Tiger I Late Production w/Zimmerit (Normandy 1944) + Tiger Ace 1/35

The Dragon 6947 model depicts one of the most famous tanks of World War II – the Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E Tiger I in its late production version with zimmerit texture, used during the Normandy battles in 1944. This set also includes a figure of the renowned "Tiger Ace," making it a unique offering for advanced modelers and military history enthusiasts.

  • Scale: 1/35 – offers an excellent balance between detail and model size
  • Country of operator: Germany
  • Historical period: World War II, Normandy campaign, summer of 1944
  • Theater: Normandy, France – including battles at Villers-Bocage and Caen
  • Material: high-quality plastic (polystyrene), clear plastic parts, photo-etched details
  • Category: Plastic model kit

The Tiger I was a legendary vehicle of the German Wehrmacht, known for its powerful armament (8.8 cm KwK 36 gun) and exceptionally strong armor. The "Late Production" version featured a modified muffler system, turret with a new type of commander's cupola, full zimmerit coating (anti-magnetic paste for protection against sticky mines), as well as reinforced suspension. The Tiger I played a significant role in the German defense during the Allied invasion of Normandy.

The Dragon 6947 model is regarded as one of the most detailed kits of this vehicle in 1/35 scale. The set includes realistically reproduced zimmerit plates on the hull and turret, photo-etched details (shields, mounting components), high-quality "magic tracks," realistic barrels and mufflers, as well as a very accurate figure of a German tank ace with interchangeable weapons and accessories. The kit does not include glue or paints – separate modeling accessories are required for complete assembly and painting.

This model is particularly recommended for advanced modelers and military collectors who will appreciate the precision of workmanship and the wealth of details recreated according to historical documentation. The difficulty level is rated at 4/5 – experience working with photo-etched parts and complex track assembly is required.

By choosing the Dragon 6947, you receive not only an authentically detailed model of one of the most iconic tanks of World War II, but also a genuine addition in the form of a Tiger Ace figure, giving your diorama exceptional realism.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
