Valom 14407 Fokker Dr.I 1/144 – plastic model aircraft kit

The Valom 14407 Fokker Dr.I kit in 1/144 scale is a proposal for modeling enthusiasts interested in the history of aviation from the First World War period. This plastic model kit, created by the renowned Czech company Valom, allows you to recreate one of the most distinctive and recognizable fighters of that era – the legendary Fokker Dr.I, widely known as the Red Baron's aircraft, which was an icon of the German Luftstreitkräfte in 1917-1918.

Designed by the Fokker company, the Dr.I was used by the German air forces at the end of the First World War. It was distinguished by its three wings (triplane), which gave it excellent maneuverability and short takeoff distance, making it a formidable opponent in aerial combat, especially during the famous "dogfights." The Fokker Dr.I became famous on the Western Front, where it was flown by the greatest fighter pilots of the period, such as Manfred von Richthofen.

The Valom 14407 kit contains all the necessary plastic injection-molded parts for self-assembly as well as richly detailed cockpit and airframe surfaces. The model does not include glue or paints, which allows hobbyists to select their preferred additional accessories and to personalize the paint scheme according to the original historical markings. The set does not include metal or resin parts, but thanks to precise injection molding and high-quality plastic, the recreation of the aircraft's details is exceptionally realistic even in such a small scale.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
