Valom 72002 Yokosuka D3Y1-K 1/72

We present the Valom 72002 Yokosuka D3Y1-K aircraft model in the popular 1/72 scale. This is a high-quality plastic model kit that allows you to recreate a very interesting and rarely seen Japanese trainer aircraft from the end of World War II among scale models. The kit does not include glue or paints – these accessories must be purchased separately.

Historical Description

The Yokosuka D3Y1-K was developed as a specialist Navy training aircraft for the Japanese Navy. It was mainly used in 1944-1945, just before the end of World War II. This machine was based on the well-known Yokosuka D3A "Val" dive bomber and was designed for efficient training of new pilots and crews in flying combat aircraft. The D3Y1-K was used mainly throughout Japan and in its bases during training. Though it was not widely used in combat, it was an important element of Imperial aviation training at the end of the war.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
