Dragon 6869 Panzerkampfwagen VI(P) / Bergepanzer Tiger(P) - (2 in 1) 1/35

Dragon 6869 Panzerkampfwagen VI(P) / Bergepanzer Tiger(P) is a unique plastic model kit in the popular 1/35 scale, which allows you to build one of two vehicle versions: the prototype heavy tank Tiger (P), also known as VK4501(P), or the recovery vehicle Bergepanzer Tiger (P). The model is designed for demanding modelers and enthusiasts of armored technology from World War II.

  • Scale: 1/35
  • Country of use: Germany
  • Historical period: World War II (years 1942-1943)
  • Material: high-quality plastic with photo-etched detail parts
  • Category: plastic model kit

2-in-1 model allows you to assemble the Tiger (P) tank with realistic Zimmerit imitation (anti-magnetic mine coating), or the rare Bergepanzer Tiger (P) towing variant, which lacks Zimmerit and features a distinctive raised superstructure at the rear of the hull and basic recovery equipment, including a small crane, actuators, and wooden beams. The set includes complete hulls and chassis for both versions, ensuring authentic details and faithful reproduction of the vehicles’ historical construction features. Each vehicle comes with dedicated photo-etched parts.

Historical background: Only 5 examples of the Tiger (P) were produced in 1942 based on the design by Ferdinand Porsche. These vehicles were used for testing and training, and only one was used in combat as a command tank during fighting on the Eastern Front in September 1942. In 1943, three hulls were converted into Bergepanzer Tiger (P) recovery vehicles.

Model complexity: The product is classified at level 4/5. This kit is recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers seeking rare and unusual vehicles for their collections. The detail level, option to build one of two unique versions, and richness of parts make this kit an outstanding proposition for enthusiasts of German armored technology from World War II. Glue and paints are not included – they must be purchased separately.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
