Valom 72114 McDonnell RF-101G/H Voodoo in 1/72 scale is a high-quality kit intended for demanding aircraft modelers and all enthusiasts of military aviation subjects. The model accurately represents the reconnaissance version of the American RF-101 Voodoo fighter, which was primarily used by the United States Air Force (USAF). The G and H variants were created as upgrades of the F-101A and F-101C fighters for photographic reconnaissance purposes – their main role was reconnaissance missions on long-range routes in high-risk areas.

Historical background:

The RF-101G/H Voodoo are Cold War-era aircraft. These variants were in service from the 1960s to the early 1970s, taking part in, among others, reconnaissance missions during the Cuban Missile Crisis and patrolling the borders of West Germany during the Cold War. They were also used by the Air National Guard up until the late seventies. This aircraft series became known for their excellent performance, cruise speeds exceeding 1,000 km/h, unique fuselage shape, and distinctive twin vertical stabilizers.
