Historical description: The Ikarus IK-2 was a fighter designed and produced in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia by Ikarus in the 1930s. It was one of the first modern, all-metal military aircraft produced in the Balkans, intended for the country's air defense. These planes took an active part in combat both during the interwar period and the brief but intense April campaign of 1941 against Axis forces. After the dissolution of Yugoslavia, several examples came into the hands of Croatian forces, where they were used by the air force of the Independent State of Croatia.
