MiG-AT (Russian: МиГ-АТ) was developed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau for the purpose of modern pilot training for the Russian Air Force. The prototype's maiden flight took place in 1996. The aircraft was designed as an advanced training platform capable of preparing pilots to operate state-of-the-art fighters such as the MiG-29 and Su-27. Although it eventually lost to the Yak-130 in domestic tenders, it was also offered to foreign users and was used to showcase advanced Russian aerospace technology at international fairs.
