Historical description:

The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 is a development variant of one of the most important German fighters of World War II. This aircraft first appeared on both the Eastern and Western fronts in 1942. The G-2 variant was equipped with a more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605A-1 engine, which significantly improved its performance compared to earlier versions. The machine was widely used by the Luftwaffe during the battles over Stalingrad, North Africa, and Western Europe. The Bf 109G-2 was known for its excellent maneuverability and powerful armament, making it a formidable opponent both in air-to-air combat and during attacks on ground targets.

Kit features:

Eduard FE912 is a model from the Weekend series, which offers a very good compromise between detail and assembly time. The set contains high-quality sprues, an excellent photo-etched fret that allows for detailed reproduction of the pilot’s cockpit interior, and masks for precise canopy painting. The product DOES NOT include resin parts or metal barrels; it focuses on finely reproduced details using plastic and extra-detailed photo-etched parts.

Recommended for whom?

It is recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers (difficulty level 3/5) who want to recreate cockpit details typical of the Bf 109G-2 without the need for expensive resin or metal upgrades. The simple, intuitive instructions ensure successful assembly and satisfaction from completing a historical modeling project. For Luftwaffe and World War II enthusiasts, this model provides an excellent foundation for further enhancement and dioramas.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
