The PZL-23 Karaś is a classic of Polish engineering from the late 1930s – manufactured at the State Aviation Works, the reconnaissance bomber was one of the main line aircraft of the Polish Air Force during the September Campaign of 1939. Although the design evolved into the “B” version, both variants were used for reconnaissance and attacks on Wehrmacht armored units. After the fall of Poland, some aircraft were interned in Romania and served in actions against the Red Army until 1942.
