Avia CS-199 was a two-seat training version of the famous Czechoslovak S-199 fighter, which was based on the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G. Produced at Kovozavody Prostejov, it entered service right after the end of World War II. The aircraft was primarily used for the training of Czechoslovak Air Force pilots, but was also exported, including to Israel, where it was used during the War of Independence in 1948–1949.
