ICM S017 Markgraf (full hull & waterline), WWI German Battleship 1:700 – Plastic ship model kit

The battleship SMS Markgraf was one of four König-class battleships that served in the Kaiserliche Marine – the Imperial German Navy during World War I. The model offered by the renowned brand ICM in 1:700 scale is a faithfully reproduced miniature of this historic vessel, suitable for display both as a full hull version and as a waterline version. This means the model can be impressively featured in a diorama depicting a naval battle or classically displayed as a standalone ship replica.

SMS Markgraf entered service in 1914, just before the outbreak of the Great War. It took part, among others, in the largest naval battle of the conflict – the Battle of Jutland in 1916, where it demonstrated high resistance to damage and effectively supported other German battleships. The ship was used until the end of the war, up to its internment at Scapa Flow in 1919, where the crew scuttled the vessel to prevent it from being seized by the Allies. Therefore, it is an important part of the history of the German fleet of the World War I era.

  • Model scale: 1/700
  • Country of use: Germany (Kaiserliche Marine)
  • Historical period: World War I (1914–1918)
  • Build options: full hull or waterline
  • Material: high-quality plastic
  • Product does not include glue or paints – these accessories must be purchased separately
  • Category: plastic ship model kit

The ICM S017 Markgraf model has been designed with attention to the structural details characteristic of early 20th-century German battleships – including accurate weaponry, superstructures, gun turrets and deck elements. Clearly reproduced details of the hull and armament allow for the creation of a realistic miniature of this historic vessel.

This product is especially recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers interested in naval subjects and World War I history. The 1:700 scale allows for the creation of extensive collections and naval battle dioramas from a bygone era.

Assembly difficulty: 3/5 – the model requires precise assembly and painting of many details, therefore it is best suited for those with some experience in building plastic ship models of this size.

By choosing the ICM S017 Markgraf, you receive a top-quality model kit allowing you to create a unique historical memento of the Battle of Jutland or to add this ship to your own 1:700 fleet.

Scale
1/700

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
