Historical description:

The Aichi Type 99 Carrier Dive Bomber (D3A "Val") was the main dive bomber of the Japanese Navy during World War II. It saw its combat debut in 1939 during conflicts in China, and by December 1941, it participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor. From 1940 until the end of World War II, it was the main striking force of Japan’s aircraft carriers, from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean. The aircraft was renowned for its excellent maneuverability and capability for precise attacks on Allied ships.

Main features of the set:

  • Accurately reproduced parts made from high-grade plastic, allowing for realistic recreation of the Aichi D3A Type 99’s silhouette
  • Precisely detailed pilot’s cabin with cockpit details
  • Option to assemble the model with landing gear either extended or retracted
  • Armament and undercarriage components, including dive bombs and the characteristic main landing gear
  • Decals with authentic markings of Japanese carrier air units from World War II
  • Clear step-by-step assembly instructions

Why choose this model?

The Fujimi 722757 C-20 Aichi Type 99 Carrier Dive M.11 kit is recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers (difficulty level 3/5). It offers great detail proportions, well-fitting parts, and striking decals. This is an excellent choice for WWII aviation enthusiasts, military history buffs, and model aircraft collectors. The model enables the construction of an authentic bomber that played a key role in the largest naval battles in the Pacific.

Recommendation:

We recommend this product both for individual display and for expanding dioramas related to World War II naval battles. It presents an interesting modeling challenge while faithfully reflecting the character of the historical original.
