Historical Model – Supermarine Walrus Mk. I

The Supermarine Walrus Mk. I is a British amphibious flying boat which first took to the skies in 1933. It was widely used by the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm as well as the air forces of Australia and New Zealand during World War II, mainly as a reconnaissance, rescue, and observation aircraft. The Walrus Mk. I took part in many missions, including the Battle of the Atlantic, participated in rescuing airmen shot down at sea, and conducted patrol duties over European and Pacific waters from 1935–1945.

Why choose Eduard FE849?

  • Photo-etched seatbelts guarantee a much higher level of detail than the plastic elements included in the base kit.
  • The thin steel belts are easy to handle by modelers and faithfully replicate the appearance of real seatbelts.
  • They increase the authenticity of the cockpit interior and overall display value of the model.
  • Easy to assemble, even for intermediate modelers.

Who is this product for?

We recommend Eduard FE849 primarily to modelers who want to achieve the highest level of realism in the 1:48 Walrus Mk. I model. This set is perfect for both advanced and intermediate modelers who already have experience with photo-etched parts.

Assembly difficulty level: 2/5 – easy to apply, detailed instructions are included.

The Eduard FE849 Walrus Mk. I seatbelts STEEL AIRFIX 1/48 set is a guarantee of excellent detailing and a professional final effect for your model!

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
