Original history – MiG-27

The MiG-27 is a Soviet ground-attack aircraft developed from the MiG-23 fighter. Its main task was direct support of ground forces, especially on the battlefield. This design was widely used from the 1970s onwards, mainly by the armed forces of the Soviet Union, later by the Russian Federation and Warsaw Pact countries, as well as export customers such as India. The aircraft participated, among others, in the conflicts in Afghanistan and was used until the end of the Cold War.
