This weapon was mainly used on the Eastern Front, where the winding and forested terrain of Eastern Europe allowed for effective camouflage of artillery positions. It was specifically designed to counter heavy tanks such as the Soviet IS-2 and the American M26 Pershing. It was produced in small quantities due to high costs and advanced technology.
