Scale
1/48

What does the model scale mean?

The model scale designation, for example, 1:30, means that the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale determines the proportion, not the resolution or level of detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g., 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with a larger number (e.g., 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller—good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.

Eduard 648011 F-16 Late Wheels 1/48 (Kinetic Model)

Eduard 648011 F-16 late wheels 1/48 (Kinetic Model) is a high-quality set dedicated to modelers seeking precise and detailed components for their 1:48 scale aircraft models. The set is specifically designed for use with F-16 Fighting Falcon models produced by Kinetic, though it will serve equally well when adapted to kits from other brands in this series.

Historical Context and Application

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is one of the world’s most well-known multirole fighters, manufactured in the United States and operated worldwide from the 1970s to the present day. It has distinguished itself in numerous conflicts, including Operation Desert Storm and NATO missions in Yugoslavia. The components in the Eduard set represent the late-type wheels, used on F-16s operated by the air forces of the USA, Poland, Belgium, Israel, Norway, Taiwan, and several other countries.

Technical Details

  • Scale: 1/48
  • Materials: Top-quality resin
  • Additions: Tire painting mask for achieving perfect results
  • Category: Resin-cast model part, intended as an add-on for plastic model kits
  • Manufacturer: Eduard (recommended for Kinetic models – 1/48 scale)

The wheels are cast with great attention to detail, characteristic of later versions—with improved tread structure and realistic equipment details. Their use significantly enhances the realism of any F-16 replica, especially for modelers focused on contemporary versions of the aircraft.

Recommendation and Skill Level

This set is recommended for both advanced modelers and intermediate military aviation enthusiasts looking to improve the quality of their builds. Since painting and precise assembly are required, we rate the difficulty as 2/5. The exceptional level of detail reproduction makes this product an excellent choice for contest and collector's projects.

If you want your 1:48 scale F-16 model to stand out, the Eduard 648011 wheel set is the perfect choice, guaranteeing a professional finish.
