History of the Supermarine Sea Otter ASR Mk.II

The Supermarine Sea Otter ASR Mk.II was a British biplane rescue flying boat. Developed by Supermarine as the successor to the legendary Walrus, it entered service at the end of World War II but saw its most active use in the post-war years. Sea Otter aircraft equipped the Fleet Air Arm (FAA) of the Royal Navy, supporting search and rescue missions over the English Channel and North Sea, as well as in training operations within the British fleet.

The model represents the ASR Mk.II in post-war markings, distinguished by improved rescue systems and excellent water maneuverability. It was the last British biplane flying boat used operationally by the Royal Navy. The type was known for its ease of handling, reliability, and durability in challenging maritime conditions.
