Every soldier had his own belongings and German assault guns crewmembers were no different. Space inside the Sturmgeschütz III was limited so crews had to transport all their personal items on the engine plate. As you may see, soldiers driving our Sturmgeschütz III Ausf.G kit had a lot of bags, boxes, cans and canvases plus fuel drum.
Painting
No special rules here — wood is wooden, fuel drum is metal with rusty rings, jerry cans are grey or dark yellow colour of camouflage, canvases may be made from German printed camouflage fabric (with Zeltbahnpattern) or one colour of your choice.
