Sturmtiger – the German heavy assault mortar of 38 cm caliber (RW61 Sturmmörser) was developed based on the Tiger I tank chassis towards the end of World War II. This vehicle was designed to demolish heavily fortified positions and for urban combat. The first Sturmtiger units were used during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, and later on the Western Front, especially during the siege of Remagen and the shelling of Cologne. The limited number of produced units and their powerful armament make this model highly attractive to collectors and enthusiasts of World War II armored vehicles.
