Discover the exceptional scale model kit Hasegawa 07546 Kawasaki Ki 61-I Tei Type 3 Fighter Hien (Tony), representing a Japanese fighter aircraft from the final period of World War II, in 1/48 scale. This plastic model kit allows you to build an extremely detailed replica of the legendary machine used by the elite 244th Air Defense Regiment of Japan, stationed over metropolitan Tokyo in 1944–1945.

History and application: The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien stood out among other Imperial Japanese Air Force fighters – it was the only Japanese design powered by an inline engine, which gave it excellent performance and a unique silhouette. The Tei (Hei) version was the latest variant of this design, featuring improved armament and enhanced aerodynamics. These aircraft played a key role in the heroic defense of Japanese airspace against attacks by American B-29 bombers during the decisive phase of World War II.

Kit contents and build: Hasegawa provides a model made from the highest quality precision plastic, ensuring excellent detail reproduction: from engine details, through a realistic cockpit, to undercarriage and control surfaces. The kit includes a rich decal sheet allowing you to create the characteristic, historical markings of the 244th Regiment. The model does not include photo-etched or resin extras; however, the quantity and quality of details will satisfy even demanding modelers.
