Historical context

The Dornier Do 335A "Pfeil" was a technologically advanced twin-engine Luftwaffe fighter used at the end of World War II (years 1944-1945). Its distinctive tandem engine configuration (one at the front, the other at the rear) provided impressive speed, making the Do 335A the fastest piston fighter of Germany during that period. Mainly used for testing and limited combat missions by the Luftwaffe, the Do 335A appeared at the end of the conflict, remaining one of the most recognizable aviation designs of the Third Reich.
