Historical Information

The OV-1 Mohawk was developed in the USA at the request of the US Army. The OV-1B variant was equipped with advanced sensors for imaging and electronic reconnaissance support. These machines were widely used from the early 1960s up until the mid-1980s. The example featured in this kit comes from a training version, used at renowned centers such as the USN Test Pilot School Patuxent River (Maryland) and Trapnell Field. The OV-1B Mohawk played a significant role both during the Cold War and in the years following, training new generations of pilots and testing advanced onboard systems.
