History of the Original P-51D Mustang Model

Used by the US Air Force, the United Kingdom, and other Allied countries, the fighter played a key role in escorting strategic bombers and in fighter combat over the European theater in 1944-1945. The success of operations involving the P-51D would not have been possible without advanced gunsights, such as reflex and optical models, which enabled pilots to accurately target during dynamic aerial combat.
