The Morane-Saulnier MS.406C.1 was developed in the mid-1930s as a modern monoplane fighter. At the outbreak of World War II, it was the mainstay of the French fighter force. During the Battle of France in 1940, hundreds of these aircraft fought against the German Luftwaffe. Although it was a solid and reliable design, it was quickly outclassed in performance by the German Messerschmitt Bf 109. The aircraft was also used after the capitulation of France—both by the Free French forces and in the air forces of Finland, Switzerland, and Croatia.

The Dora Wings 48031 kit stands out for its exceptional accuracy of detail, enabling realistic reconstruction of the pilot's cockpit, wing and fuselage surfaces, and landing gear bays. The included decals allow for the creation of several marking versions used by the Armée de l’Air in 1940. It is a proposal for both intermediate and advanced modelers—the difficulty level is 3/5.

This model is recommended for World War II enthusiasts, collectors of French aviation models, as well as those wishing to enrich their collection with a miniature of a fighter that took part in the tragic yet fascinating Battle of France. It is not just a model to build, but also a living lesson in aviation history.
