Historical Information – Caudron 714 Cyklone

The Caudron 714 Cyklone fighter aircraft was developed between 1938 and 1940 as the French aviation industry’s response to the need for fast interceptor fighters. This aircraft was used primarily during the French campaign in 1940 (World War II), especially by the Polish Air Force in France, which became renowned for operating this aircraft. The Caudron 714 was notable for its unusual construction – it was very lightweight and powered by an inline engine. Although it demonstrated speed and agility, the aircraft had poor protection and was vulnerable to damage, which is why only a small series was produced.
