Historical Information

The Ferret Mk 1 reconnaissance car is a British light armored vehicle produced since the 1950s and used by numerous NATO armies during the Cold War. Canadian troops using Ferrets participated in UN operations, including the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF)—the first major UN peacekeeping mission established in response to the Suez Conflict (1956–1967). These vehicles stood out with characteristic UN markings, frequently featuring blue and white elements and clearly painted "UN" inscriptions.
