Shikinami belonged to the famous Fubuki class, considered revolutionary in naval history. At the time of their construction after World War I, Fubuki hulls featured advanced propulsion, modern architecture, and extremely strong armament, leading them to be called ageless "super-destroyers." The Shikinami gained renown for participating in many actions in Pacific waters, including convoying fleet groups and protecting main forces during key World War II operations, such as the Battle of the Solomon Islands.

The Pit-Road model kit is made from high-grade plastic, ensuring ease of work as well as precise fitting of the parts. The model offers clearly reproduced details of the deck, superstructures, armament (including gun turrets, torpedoes, anti-aircraft guns), radars, and auxiliary boats. The set includes fine plastic details that allow for an authentic look of the 1944 ship. An additional advantage of the kit is a faithful decal sheet with Imperial Japanese Navy markings and a comprehensive assembly instruction (in English or Japanese).

We recommend this model to all naval history enthusiasts, collectors, as well as intermediate and advanced modelers. This product is an exceptional proposition both for building individual warship collections and for World War II maritime dioramas.

Build difficulty: 3/5 – recommended experience in naval model building.
