Historical description:
The M60A1 tank was developed as an evolution of the American M60 main battle tank family. Equipped with a powerful 105mm M68 gun, it served extensively with the U.S. armed forces and many allied armies from the 1960s until the end of the 20th century. The M60A1 fitted with reactive armor packs was used in conflicts in the Middle East (including Israel, the Yom Kippur War, and the Gulf War).

The M60A3 is the latest version in the line, introduced from the late 1970s. It is characterized by modern electronics (fire control systems, rangefinders, thermal imaging) and improved crew protection. It participated in NATO maneuvers during the Cold War period and remained in service with many countries into contemporary times.
