Stratus 27391 “Samolot po polsku 09: Bartel BM-5 PL” is a specialist publication dedicated to one of the most important Polish trainer aircraft of the interwar period – the Bartel BM-5. The Bartel BM-5 was a basic trainer aircraft developed in Poland in the mid-1920s and was intensively used by the Military Aviation of the Second Polish Republic. The aircraft was designed by Wielkopolska Wytwórnia Samolotów Samolot S.A. for cadet pilot training and basic tactical tasks. The first examples entered service in 1928, and they were operated until the beginning of World War II. Bartels were used at numerous pilot training centers, including Dęblin, and served as the backbone for training aircrew for the Polish Air Force in the interwar period.
