Historical Information

The StuH 42 Ausf. G (Sturmhaubitze 42) is a self-propelled gun based on the Sturmgeschütz III tank chassis, used primarily by the German army (Wehrmacht) from 1942–1945 exclusively during World War II. It was developed in response to the need for infantry fire support—its main weapon was a 105 mm caliber gun, capable of destroying both fortifications and small enemy vehicles. The StuH 42 was widely used on the Eastern Front, in Normandy, Italy, and during urban fighting at the end of the war.
