ICM S019 U-Boat Type ‘Molch’ WWII German Midget Submarine 1/72

Discover the highly detailed plastic model kit ICM S019 U-Boat Type ‘Molch’ in 1/72 scale, presenting the famous German midget submarine from World War II. This model allows you to recreate the unique craft of the Kriegsmarine special assault forces, which played an exceptional role in diversionary operations in the waters of the Mediterranean and North Sea.

The Molch, factory designated as "Thomas II," was one of the boldest projects of the German Navy, created in response to the increasingly difficult situation of the Third Reich at sea towards the end of the war. Manufactured from July 1944 at the Deschhimag shipyard in Bremen, this single-seater midget submarine was adapted for coastal operations—its hull was constructed of three sections, with the central one housing the only crew member. The Molch was powered by an electric engine, which enabled exceptionally silent underwater operation, reaching speeds of up to 5 knots and diving depths of up to 60 meters. Despite their limited combat capabilities, these midget submarines participated in 140 combat operations by the end of World War II.

Thanks to precisely reproduced structural details, this kit will meet the expectations of both intermediate and advanced modelers, offering satisfaction from manual assembly and the painting of details characteristic of German wartime technology of the 1940s.

Assembly difficulty: 3/5 – the model is intended for modelers with some experience in working with 1/72 scale plastic kits.

We recommend the ICM S019 U-Boat Type ‘Molch’ to all model-making enthusiasts wishing to enrich their collection with a rare example of German underwater technology from World War II. It is an excellent choice for dioramas and standalone historical displays.
