Mitsubishi G4M1 Model 11 "Betty" is a legend of Japanese aviation, characterized by its streamlined silhouette and impressive range. Its lightweight aluminum construction provided speed and increased operational radius, but also contributed to its less-than-stellar reputation for withstanding enemy fire – particularly evident during fierce clashes over Pacific islands. The "Late" version of the model reflects the bomber’s later configuration, including upgrades to turrets, armament systems, and cockpit details.

Sword 72148 stands out for its excellent replication of details and faithful representation of bomber aircraft panels, structural lines, and equipment parts. The precise decals allow the model to be finished in several authentic paint schemes used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the most significant naval operations of World War II – including the famous Battle of the Coral Sea and actions over Guadalcanal.

The set does not include glue or paints, allowing you to choose the highest quality products individually and personalize the model as you like. Assembling the model is a challenge rated at 4/5 difficulty – precise work, careful assembly, and decal application skills are essential, especially on small and clear elements.

Highly recommended for advanced modelers and enthusiasts of Japanese military technology from the 1940s. The Sword 72148 Mitsubishi G4M1 Model 11 "Betty" (Late Version) 1/72 kit is not only a fascinating choice for collectors and aviation history reenactors but also an excellent addition to any diorama collection or displays related to the Pacific theater of war.
