J 35 Draken is a single-seat jet fighter developed by the Swedish company Saab in the 1950s. It was one of the first combat aircraft in the world with a distinctive double-delta wing configuration, providing excellent performance at both high and medium altitudes. The J 35O (“Österreich”) variant was created specifically for Austria, which operated these aircraft from the 1980s until 2005 as its primary interceptor.

These aircraft mainly served in the Austrian Air Force for airspace patrol and interception of foreign aircraft during Cold War tensions. The Draken was especially valued for its maneuverability and performance, allowing it to compete with other designs from the era, such as the Mirage III and the American F-104 Starfighter.

The Hasegawa 07519 kit offers a precisely reproduced fuselage, detailed cockpit and landing gear, rich decals tailored to the historical markings of Austrian Drakens, and clear assembly instructions. This model is recommended for fans of modernist aviation and collectors who wish to expand their collection with a unique Cold War period aircraft. Glue and paints are not included.

Highly recommended for: modelers seeking a challenge and enthusiasts of authentic details. An excellent choice for professional dioramas and presentations.
