Fly 48037 Breguet XIVA2 French Service 1/48 – Plastic model kit

Discover the unique Fly 48037 Breguet XIVA2 French Service 1/48 scale plastic model, replicating the famous French light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft from World War I. This kit transports the modeller into the extraordinary world of aviation from over a century ago, offering an accurate representation of an aircraft that played a key role during wartime struggles.

Historical and Technical Information

The Breguet XIV was built in 1916 in the French Societe Anonyme des Atelieurs d'Aviation Louis Breguet factory. The aircraft was characterised by an innovative construction using metal, which revolutionised military aviation of the time – it was one of the first mass-produced bombers with a metal frame. It served mainly in France, but also saw service in the USA, Belgium, Serbia, Poland, and Greece. Breguet 14 aircraft were intensively used on the Western Front during World War I – for example, they were widely deployed during the Allied offensive in 1918, also providing aerial artillery support and reconnaissance of enemy territory.

The Fly 48037 model replicates the Breguet XIVA2 variant, used by French air services until the end of the war and into the postwar years until the 1920s. The main operational period for this aircraft was 1917-1919, that is, the final phase of World War I and the period of Allied interventions after the armistice.
