The aircraft was towed by machines such as the Ju 52 or He 111, and its ability to land on small clearings or fortified points made it extremely versatile. The cargo bay accommodated 9 soldiers or 1,200 kg of equipment – weapons, ammunition, radios, or even small anti-tank guns.
