The Sd.Kfz.164 Hornisse was designed in 1942 as a response to the ineffectiveness of earlier German anti-tank guns against Soviet T-34 and KV tanks. Based on the lengthened Panzer IV chassis, the vehicle was equipped with the excellent 88mm PaK 43 L/71 anti-tank gun, renowned for its outstanding penetration even at long distances. The Hornisse could reach speeds up to 50 km/h, carried a crew of six, and was primarily used on the Eastern Front, but also saw action in the West and in Italy.

This Dragon 6414 kit faithfully replicates the early version of the Hornisse, staying true to the manufacturer’s accuracy.
