About the Model and Its Combat Use

• Scale: 1/48
• Type: plastic assembly model kit
• Country: USSR, currently in use by Ukraine and countries inheriting Soviet weaponry
• Period: Cold War, also active in modern times

The MiG-29 9-13 is a modernized version of the famous Soviet air superiority fighter, designed in the 1970s and 1980s by the Mikoyan and Gurevich design bureau. Since the Cold War, the aircraft has been used by the air forces of the USSR, then Russia, and several Eastern European countries, including Poland and, as demonstrated by recent events, Ukraine.

The 9-13 version is distinguished by an enlarged dorsal spine, allowing for upgraded avionics and greater fuel capacity. These fighters have played a key role in many armed conflicts, and the “Ghost of Kyiv” model has become a symbol of Ukrainians’ fight for independence.
